Benjamin Wey’s Interests
“A great architect is not made by way of a brain nearly so much as he is made by way of a cultivated, enriched heart.”
-Frank Lloyd Wright
Benjamin Wey, the owner of a construction consultancy firm, has a very eclectic set of interests, the majority of which revolve around his profession. His passion for architecture, design, construction, civil engineering, math, and structures all stem from his chosen profession, but Benjamin Wey also has many outside interests. He is extremely fond of puzzles and riddles, he is an avid modern art collector and supporter, and he is an amateur epicure. He and his wife frequently attend local art, food, wine, and cultural events, where they enjoy meeting and mingling with people of similar interests that live in and around their community. Benjamin Wey is also a frequent traveler and history expert who enjoys making pilgrimages to his favorite structures to pay homage to his architect idols, their former homes, and some of the greatest feats of engineering, design, and construction ever conceived.
Benjamin Wey also spends a great deal of his time reading and doing research on his favorite architects, learning as much as he can from their droll biographers or the artists’ own hand-written autobiographies, which afford him with candid glimpses into their lives. Benjamin Wey also enjoys spending some of his free time on the golf course, playing a few rounds for the exercise, the opportunity to forget about work for a few hours, and the pure love of the game. He is also very interested in film, his most recent favorite having won two Academy Awards for Best Actor and Cinematography.
When he is not working, Benjamin Wey enjoys spending as much time with his family as possible, involving them in all of his hobbies from puzzles to traveling. His growing young family has accompanied him on a number of trips around the US, most notably to two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterful homes: Taliesin West and Fallingwater.
